my mind's inner tivo

It's not so much that I want to know if there's a new Gilmore Girls tonight, but rather, when do we get to return to all-Kelly-Bishop, all-the-time?

Because there was no Kelly in last week's episode, and that's just unacceptable.

Of course, there's always the drama that could be women's figure skating. It's not exactly the same as the brilliance that is Emily Gilmore, but it might just have to do.

If I mention Dr Phil on your blog, will you transatlantically thump me?

The Gilmore Girls is shown here right before that other show that I tentatively mentioned above, and though I have never seen a full episode, I am beginning to think that I should. It's just that I watch so much television already (damn those Irish television stations for compensating for their inability to make quality shows of their own by importing all the good stuff from your side of the pond). How can I be expected to have my own life when fictional characters continue to have so much fun?

Anyhoo, if you think the Olympics figure skating has created a stir, you should come over here on a Saturday night. Celebrities and professional figure skaters together at last! What's not to like?? (Maybe Bonnie Langford's continued success on the show when she displays a terminal inability to skate, but those of us who thought we were Bonnie Langford for a brief period in our youths are confused and frightened by such comments, and wish our husbands would stop making them.)

I really shouldn't be allowed at a computer without adult supervision.

I have to admit that I have not gotten involved in Skating with the Stars (or the ballroom dance version, which is already in its second incarnation). I probably would enjoy it, but I have a bit of a thing against such reality-cum-game-show television, except for Project Runway.

Anyway -- the Gilmores have been up and down in quality, and now are almost worth watching solely for the characters of the grandparents, played by Kelly Bishop and Edward Herrmann. Still, I can't help but watch. Oh well!

You know what really bites? I only have reruns. Seriously unfair. I have no idea what's REALLY going on with the show. Sniffles. And she is just fantastic isn't she? :)
